Yes, this book is a blessing to this world. I have had this book recommended to me by multiple people, and I finally caved and bought it. Never have I made a better decision. This book has helped me understand not only the physical portion of the human body, but the mental. I have always been interested in the brain and all the things that come with it, but I never felt like I fully grasped the concept, until I read this book. It answered all of my questions and has given me more knowledge than an old owl. I will admit I was hesitant to buy it because I have never been one for medical books, knowing that it is most likely going to be boring, but this one is not boring at all. It is intriguing and I could not put it down. I have had multiple sleepless nights reading this. Which is ironic because it talks about the importance of sleep. Another aspect I love about this book is the author. Somehow Bryson manages to add humor into this which helps with the intriguing factor. It is no exaggeration to say that he covers almost everything. Although this book has great information in it, and I believe it is one of the best books, It is not for the week. The book has a darker side to it, explaining all the things that can go wrong in the body. And Bryson does not leave any details out.
