On the shelf next to the mixer were all its available add-on components.  The first to catch my eye was the citrus juicer.  We juice oranges quite often and it seemed like this would save us a lot of time.  After using it for the first time it certainly did!

The attachment is made of two parts: a grooved spindle and the pitcher to hold the juice.  The spindle is made of the same plastic as the mixing bowl.  It is smooth and white.  The pitcher is clear and seems to be a little different type of plastic but I am not for sure on that.  As the orange is pressed against the spindle, the juice slides down, through a slotted filter that catches the seeds, into the pitcher.  The spindle is also a good size, which is great because then it doesn’t get clogged with seeds as fast.  I can juice a lot more oranges than with my other machine because the sizes of the picture and spindle are larger.  The pitcher also holds a larger amount of juice so I don’t have to empty it out as much either.  In fact, a couple of times I used the pitcher itself to serve the juice in because it was able to hold so much.  That was for a breakfast of four people and that was perfect.  For larger servings, I had to empty out the components and then begin juicing all over again.  I found that the spindle and pitcher were both easily emptied and rinsed.  The leftover fibers from the oranges didn’t stick to the plastics and water removes everything.

The first speed is plenty fast for juicing.  The spindle moves at a good rate.  It is a consistent rotation and I am able to hold the oranges with one hand while I get the next one ready.  This has made juicing much quicker.  I used to have to hold the oranges with two hands since my last juicer was not as stable and it wiggled around a little.  This juicer was much better.  It stayed in one place and was able to easily withstand the pressure from my hand without slowing down.

Cleaning, as said before, is simple and easy. The fibers and seeds did not stick to the components and a simple rinse was all it needed to be cleaned.  Each piece comes off the base easily and in such a way that the base did not get dirty at all.  The pitcher and spindle were able to hold all the juice without dripping onto it or the counter; making clean up even easier!

This attachment has made juicing everyday an easy task.  It as by far been the best juicer I’ve owned!  It is easy to set up, clean, juice onto, and the motor was strong and stable.
