I picked up this nifty little machine for something fun for our family to do this coming summer. Well we just couldn’t wait so we broke into it a bit early. Boy are we glad we did. The Genesis soda stream soda maker is so much fun for the whole family.
Now we don’t drink much soda, but thought this could be really fun to make sparkling juices. My only recommendation…. don’t try to re-carbonate previously carbonated drinks. You will end up with a huge mess.
The Genesis Soda Stream is incredibly easy to use. Simply fill the included bottle with water to the fill line, place bottle in machine and press top to carbonate. Add your desired flavor or juice, place top back on and gently swirl to combine. Voila you have your delicious beverage.
The box came with everything you would need to get started (minus water). The particular package we got came with the Genesis Home Soda Stream Maker, 1-60 liter carbonator, 2 bottles to mix your concoctions in, 3 full size soda mixes (flavors vary…we got cola, root beer and lemon lime), and a soda mix sampler variety 12 pack.
You can purchase many other flavors. The company makes 23 regular (tea, root bear, cola, lemonade, orange, energy, grape) or 21 diet flavors. We really liked the cola, root beer, lemon lime, ginger ale and their version of Dr. Pepper (Dr. Pete).
You can find these machines at various stores such as, Target, Best Buy and Williams Sonoma just to name a few.
The whole kit sells for around $100 and is worth every penny.
