This is one of the best curling irons I’ve owned. It does a great job curling hair. I bought the one inch size hoping that it would provide many different styles of curl from a beach look to an elegant uniform curl. This iron did both without trouble.
It is not heavy and the design for handling was done well. I feel like I can grip the iron safely and securely. The tip of the iron stays cool and can rotate on its own making it easier to twist the iron through the hair. I really like this feature because I can curl faster than I could with a stationary tip. I found this really helpful with trying to iron my hair for big, bouncy curls. That’s because for that style I begin curling at the scalp of the hair and not at the bottom. The twistable knob at the end allows my to pull the iron through my hair without having to tire out my wrists.
It gets hot enough to thoroughly heat hair and has a rubber coating over the prop up bar so that no metal touches the counter. I like that I don’t have to worry about the iron burning the counter. We have nice, new cultured marble and I know a burn mark would be easy to make and difficult to take out. It takes a little time to cool, but nothing out of the ordinary as far as curling irons go.
There have been a couple of times when I have turned the iron on, left the room, then came back and it looked like the iron was turned off. That’s because after plugging it in, and pushing the ‘on’ button, the light illuminates red. What I didn’t know was that the light turns off when it is heated through. So coming back to the bathroom with no red light makes it look like it was turned off.
I would buy this iron again and other products under this brand. Its affordable at under $20 and the curl lasts all day.
