I got so tired of buying bottled water while at the grocery store; or trying to remember to fill up the larger bottles for a water machine that I was desperate to find something easier.   So while walking thru Lowes the other day I found myself looking at the water filtration systems. Man are those expensive. Any where from $170 and up.  So I took a few steps to my left and found the Pur AdvancedPlus Faucet Water Filter. Seemed easy enough. Right on there box (and in their commercials) they brag about “easy 1-click installation”.  Now, I am nowhere near a handy person, so this grabbed my attention immediate.  They offer three finishes chrome (a dul silver), silver and white. I went with the silver. Then I looked at the price…only $29. Into the basket it went.

Once home I examined the box closer. The Pur AdvancedPlus Faucet Water Filter has a 3 stage minteralclear ™ Filter.  Stage 1 is a filter to trap sediment; Stage 2 has an activated carbon micro-filter to reduce contamination and removes 99.9% of microbial cysts; and Stage 3 is yet another filter with natural minerals for a nice crisp taste. There is also a built-in filter life indicator that informs you of when the filter needs to be changed. The filters are fairly cheap ($17-$18) and last about 100 cups.

On to the installation, it was simple but no “easy 1-click installation”.  They provide you with several fitting for your faucet that you need to replace with the one you currently have. Once you figure this out it does become easy. Just pop it on and off you go.

I am really enjoying the taste of the water that is coming out of the filter as well as the ease of use. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a simple cheap way to have great tasting drinking water right at your finger tips.
