This Athleta Shirrendipity Tankini is on the pricier side, at $59. I have very mixed feelings about it. I really like certain aspects of this top and wish a few were different.
With the plunging v-neck I didn’t feel like I was going to “fall out”. I do wish that it did not go as low but still really like this swim top. It has a very supportive under band to help hold everyone up right. I have read reviews that say they felt the support band around the bust makes their backs look bulgy, I did not find that to be the case.
The removable cups that provide extra coverage are a pain when you wash the suit, as they like to twist up or fall out in the wash. I found that the adjustable halter tie can dig into the back of my neck putting a lot of pressure and some pain after wearing it all day.
I like the scrunching in the mid-section. It helps to hide any stomach insecurities. It was long enough for me that I did not feel like I was fighting with it to keep it down.
After swimming in it, I like the way it held up. The fabric did not feel like it stretched out. Also, after playing some pool volleyball, me and my girls felt secure and didn’t give anyone a show 😉
