Arizona Hockey Union has long been a respected organization for youth hockey in the valley. During my son’s time playing for their 16U AA team, I can see why they have been respected for so long. While the season didn’t lead to the results we wanted, the quality of coaching and surrounding players developed my son into a better player. The main coach had high level playing experience and did an amazing job teaching his skills to all the players. The pricing for the season was very fair for a youth hockey season and we never felt like we were being overcharged.
My only complaint about AHU is their home rink being in a bad condition. AZ Ice Gilbert is in a great location, but its management has led to the rink going into bad physical condition. The management has also led to poor scheduling, giving us unwanted time changes at times. Other than that, I highly recommend checking out AHU as a developmental step if your child is looking to play youth hockey in the valley.
