The Bauer Vapor x500 are on the lower end of prices when it comes to the Vapor lineup. These were around the $200 price point, definitely more affordable than the top tier models that will run you a little more than $1000. The price does come with quality however, and this model stays true to it. They are great skates for beginners, however they will wear down the more skating you put into them. These lasted only one season before I had to upgrade to the next model.
However, I personally am a player who prefers the lower priced skates, as I don’t require the fancy technology. These worked perfectly while they were in good condition. The ankle padding was its only downside, as it was the first thing to wear down. The sides indented fast, leaving you with a looser feeling, thus having to tie them tighter. The Achilles Tendon protector also became less stiff and soon began to break .
Overall these are great skates for their price point and I recommend these for any beginner player.
