NCSA is marketed to help student athletes get exposed to college coaches to further both their academic and athletic career. Through my experience, it works to a degree. It is a great tool for college coaches to do research on certain players, including academics and goals. Athletes can upload test scores, grades, highlight reels, athletic stats, and other basic information about their playing and school level.
The biggest thing that I ran into during my use was lots of mass messages with camp invites. They all seemed to be used to make money by sending to as many people as possible with little to no filter. This could give some athletes a false sense of contact with college and junior coaches. I believe this problem is a big thing that holds the service back, and if they were able to filter out these spam camp invites and only allow legitimate offers, it would be worth it. The hefty price tag is also a big hold back, with prices from $500-$2000, and while it could be worth it in the end by receiving a scholarship, the likelihood of it actually happening is very little.
Overall, using this service is worth a shot for high level athletes that are looking for more exposure beyond just their athletic skill. Being able to not only show off your level of practice for the sport, but also academic strength is a great opportunity. However for players on the cusp of being recruited are more likely to not receive any benefit through the use of this.
