Recently I came to the decision to spruce up my home. I did not have a very high budget for this so my options were limited to changing paint color and moving around some furniture. I already had a decently dark brown color on all my walls so I knew I was in for a few coats of paint. While at the home improvement store (Lowes) I found just the right colors. I took my paint choices to the guy at the counter and proceeded with my order. He told me about Valspars new Signature paint. It is paint and primer in one. SCORE! I was really excited about this concept. One less step I would have to do.
Valspar brags about this stuff having an “Ultimate hiding formula for best coverage”. Well we will see about that. After taking a while to prep the room I proceeded to paint. I was half way thru the wall, and was starting to get a bit frustrated. The color did not seem to go on well. I could still see the brown thru the color I had picked out (blue incase you were wondering), and it did not seem to go on evenly. Never the less I continued and finished with the wall. I left the room to let it dry, thinking I was going to have to come back and do a second color. When I came back I was surprised by how it looked. It covered most all of the brown and dried evenly. There were a few areas that needed to be touched up, but all in all great coverage.
I also really liked the Low Odor and low VOC.
At $39 a gallon I would use this product again.
